WILDWOOD MATTERS

Most Popular Story- Conduct Unbecoming

How an anonymously run Facebook site has been used for character assassination, rumor mongering and humiliation of enemies of now censured councilwoman Tammy Shea.

Anti-Mayor Activists

Taylor's Free Speech Amendment

Wildwood residents were being prohibited from engaging directly with their elected officials at city meetings. So I introduced the Free Speech Amendment to guarantee citizens can ask direct questions of their Council Members and the Mayor and city meetings.  After a long fight including a veto it eventually passed unanimously and is currently part of our city's code.

"Weak Mayor" Fundamentalism is Crippling Our City

A group of "weak mayor" fundamentalists reject our charter's principle of balanced power and want to undercut the Mayor at any cost.  As a city we need to work together to fight losing our city in the proposeed city-county merger, not fight among ourselves.

Anti-Mayor Group Spend Big on Time and Money on Outgrageous Claims

Over $30,000 dollars in failed ethics complaints have been filed against the Mayor and his perceived political allies.  Attacks against the Mayor are now so increasingly wild that they recently included a claim that the Mayor stole City Hall by photographing it.

Wildwood Forms  Commission in Response to Forced City-County Merger

The City of Wildwood is facing an existential threat with the proposed forced City - County merger.  The Council and Mayor have responded by passing a resolution against the proposal and forming a committee to preserve our communities assets.

Council members Ray Manton, Ward 2 and Steve Taylor, Ward 4 along with eight residents nominated by the Mayor will form the new Wildwood Preservation Committee.

 Let's Play Nice

We don't always agree, but we can respect one another.  Common sense says we shouldn't create or like anonymous sites that demean or degrade. Nor is it a good idea to say residents participating in public discussions sounded like fools. Below are some favorite examples of how not to engage WIldwood residents.  Let's bring civility and respect back to Wildwood.

We must say this one gave us a smile.  Slimedog?

What were you thinking Ms. Woerther?

Ms. Woerther, it doesn't take a PR agent to  know that one should not to claim that residents "sounded like fools" when they disagree with you, your husband and some self-professed founders.
