Wildwood's Hazardous Waste Sites
Wildwood is home to sites that have been on EPA's Superfund and National Priorities List. They were reportedly contaminated by infamous waste hauler Russel Bliss in the 1970s, who is known to have sprayed the former town of Times Beach Missouri with dioxin. Although now delisted by the EPA, the sites are considered inappropriate for development. A newly proposed overlay district seeks to put safe guards in place among other things inform potential buyers of homes built on former toxic sites.
Wildwood Matters is dedicating this page as a repository for publicly available material that may be helpful for residents to better understand the history of these sites.
